Sectional Sofas Built to Anchor a Room, Not Just Fill It

A sectional isn’t just a bigger sofa — it’s a different way of arranging a living room. Browse ready models available now in our showroom, or have one built to the exact dimensions and finish your space calls for. Either way, you’re getting a piece designed to define the seating area itself, not just fill a corner.

Who It’s For

Is a Sectional Right for Your Household?

Sectionals work best when a room genuinely has the space to let one piece do most of the seating work. A few signs it’s the right fit for your home — whether you choose a ready model above or build one to order:

Larger or open-plan living rooms

Larger families or frequent guests

Lounging, not just sitting upright

Modern or minimal interior style

Daily TV, work-from-home or movie nights

Choosing a Shape

L-Shaped or U-Shaped: Which Suits Your Room?

Both configurations use the corner-anchored idea, but they suit different rooms and different households. Here’s the practical difference.

L-Shaped

The more space-efficient option. One chaise extends from a standard sofa run, fitting neatly into a single corner without needing floor space on both sides.

  • Fits most medium-to-large living rooms
  • Chaise can be positioned left or right
  • Leaves more open floor space than a U-shape

U-Shaped

Two chaises face each other around a shared middle section, creating an enclosed seating area. Needs more open floor space, but seats significantly more people facing one another.

  • Best for larger or open-plan rooms
  • Highest seating capacity of any sectional shape
  • Creates a naturally enclosed conversation area

Before You Buy

A Quick Buying Guide for Sectional Sofas

A few practical checks before ordering — whether you’re buying a ready model or starting a custom build.

01

Measure the corner, not just the wall

Account for both sofa runs meeting at the corner, plus a little breathing room on each side.

02

Check doorways and stairwells

A large sectional is usually delivered in separate sections, but it’s worth confirming your entryway can accommodate the largest piece.

03

Leave room for traffic flow

Keep at least 75–90cm of clear walking space around the sectional so the room doesn’t feel boxed in.

04

Decide the chaise side early

Whether you’re buying a ready model or going custom, walk through your room and confirm which side the chaise should sit on before finalising.

Why BMA Decor

Getting a Sectional’s Fit Right Takes More Than a Tape Measure

A sectional is one of the few sofa types where a small sizing mistake is hard to undo. Here’s how we reduce that risk, whether you buy ready or custom.

On-Site Measurement

We measure your actual corner, not just take your word for the dimensions.

In-House Build

Both showroom and custom sectionals are built in our own workshop, not sourced from a factory catalogue.

Fabric Consistency

Matching upholstery across a multi-piece sectional is checked at production, not left to chance.

Support After Delivery

Reupholstery and repair available if cushions or fabric need attention down the line.

FAQs

Sectional Sofa Questions

What’s the difference between a ready model and a custom sectional?

A ready model is available now in one of our current showroom finishes, ready to view and take home without a build wait. A custom sectional is built from scratch to your exact dimensions, fabric and configuration, which takes longer but leaves nothing fixed.

Can I choose which side the chaise sits on?

Yes, for a custom L-shaped sectional the chaise can be built on the left or right. Ready models are shown in a fixed configuration, but our team can confirm which orientations are currently in stock.

Will a large sectional fit through my doorway?

Sectionals are delivered as separate sections and assembled inside your home, so a single large piece rarely needs to pass through the doorway in one go. We confirm access during measurement.

Is an L-shaped or U-shaped sectional better for a small living room?

An L-shaped design is generally the better fit, since it only extends into one corner rather than requiring open space on both sides. For very compact rooms, a sofa set may work better than either.

Do all sections use the exact same fabric batch?

Yes, all sections of your sectional are upholstered from the same fabric batch during production, so colour and texture stay consistent across the piece.

Can I see a sectional’s true size at the showroom before ordering?

Yes, the ready models shown above are set up at the showroom so you can sit on and walk around a full-size sectional before deciding, whether you buy that piece or use it as a reference for a custom order.

Whether you’ve spotted a ready model above or want something built to your exact room, our team can help you take the next step.
